Our Identity
The IIM Alumni Singapore represents graduates from all 21 of India’s prestigious Indian Institutes of Management, who call Singapore their home. Founded in 2005 as the “Pan Indian Institute of Management Alumni Association” (PIIMA) by alumni from IIMs Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Bangalore, and Lucknow, we have evolved into our current identity as “IIM Alumni Singapore” to reflect our inclusive community.
With over 3,000 members, we form the largest concentration of IIM graduates outside India. Our alumni excel across multinational corporations, government-linked companies, academia, consulting, and entrepreneurship. Many have embraced Singapore citizenship, demonstrating a commitment to contributing to our adopted home.
Our Purpose
We exist to:
- Build the IIM alumni brand and forge networks with professional, business, academic, governmental, and social communities
- Support our members’ professional and academic aspirations
- Foster camaraderie among IIM alumni in Singapore and globally
- Serve our communities through targeted initiatives
- Strengthen India-Singapore relations through meaningful dialogue and collaboration
- Establish thought leadership on contemporary issues
Our Governance
Our Executive Committee (ExCo) comprises elected Office Bearers and representatives nominated by individual IIM chapters, ensuring diverse representation and effective management. Strategic direction comes from our Council—a body of Life Members resident in Singapore whose collective experience guides our organization’s development.

IIMPact: Our flagship event series has evolved from networking gatherings to globally recognized conferences featuring thought leaders and policymakers discussing contemporary issues.
INSPire: A platform strengthening India-Singapore collaboration in policy, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship through structured dialogue between governments and industry.
IIMPulse: Community-building through sports and wellness activities.
IIMChat: Intimate forum for thought-provoking conversations with prominent alumni and global luminaries.
Our Distinguished Connections
Our initiatives have received remarkable support from the Singapore government, with distinguished guests including Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, former Deputy Prime Ministers Teo Chee Hean and Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, and Minister Chan Chun Sing. The late Mr. S.R. Nathan, Singapore’s sixth President, served as our association’s Patron.
We’ve hosted influential leaders including Raghuram Rajan (Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India), Piyush Gupta (CEO, DBS Bank), and Nandan Nilekani (Co-founder, Infosys), whose insights have enriched our community’s perspective.
Our Continuing Journey
From evening gatherings to multi-day conferences, our initiatives have grown in scale and impact.
Our evolution continues with INSPire, our newest flagship platform launched at the 9th Singapore FinTech Festival (November 2024). This innovative forum strengthened India-Singapore collaboration across policy, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship through structured dialogue between governments and industry stakeholders.
The inaugural INSPire Forum explored critical themes including India inbound investment strategies for small businesses in Singapore, skilling & capacity development, energy transition pathways to net zero, and frameworks for open digital commerce.
Looking ahead, we are planning our most ambitious IIMPact event yet in 2025 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations—a milestone celebration befitting this important partnership.
As we move forward, we remain dedicated to enhancing the professional ecosystem in Singapore while strengthening the strategic partnership between Singapore and India—a relationship of growing economic and geopolitical significance in Asia and beyond.
