And here’s the latest update on the campaign. Tuesday was a day of positive milestones in our drive to make a difference : We thank everyone who has contributed so generously.
- Individual contributions crossed SGD1MM, and close to 2M of funding has been committed. We still need funds for all the supply we have identified so do keep spreading the word for donations.
- DBS and its employees generously agreed to pitch in with 300k$ to back some of the initiatives we had triggered
- The Singapore Red Cross, an incredibly dynamic team, has helped us tie up payments systems, identify and pay suppliers and started to provided detail and clarity on their last mile into India
- The Temasek Foundation has been an incredible partner, connecting us to last mile actors in India and taking charge of logistics to get stuff into there, whether it is talking to the armed forces or everybody who matters in corporate Singapore
- ACT, one of India’s leading NGOs not just tied up with this, but has moved fast to provide funds for procurement, and agree last mile arrangements and accountability
- Multiple alumni organisations agreed to work with and through our initiative to achieve greater impact
- Our finance and secretarial teams have been working overtime with Govt agencies to ensure everything operates within the laws of all the jurisdictions involved.
- Our comms team has not only started to handle the zillions of questions coming in, but also roped in the next generation of alumni (their kids) to create digital messaging fit for the times
