About 4/10 alumni have already contributed to the effort and we urge all alumni to contribute any amount to help us reach the target and save more lives. SGD 500 by the 6/10 alumni will add SGD500M which can save up to 10000 lives in the next 100 days.

He shared that the #BreatheLife team enabled the first shipments with ACT grants. 3000 oxygen cylinders and 8 PSAs shipped yesterday from Singapore and Turkey respectively within just 2 weeks of the start of the campaign.

Our first focus has been to procure and ship oxygen concentrators of reliable quality into India. It has been an urgent and concerted effort by the Breathe Life team given the dire need and we are grateful for your swift response with significant funding to enable the effort to save lives in India.

Funds collection status

  • SGD 1.5MM to date from individual donors with a target of 2.5MM (SGD2MM with Red Cross on Giving.sg and SGD 500M with UWB and Swasth Digital Health Foundation in India)
  • SGD 700M from corporate donors with a target of 2.5MM
  • We need an additional 2.8 MM to deliver our SGD 5MM target.

Oxygen Concentrators order / delivery Status

  • With funds raised by #BreatheLifeIndia Singapore Red Cross has ordered and paid SGD 1.35 MM for 2000 concentrators. Recall these are of WHO approved specs – 10L and dual flow.
  • These are under production in China and the first batch will be ready for shipment around 20 May, and all to be shipped by mid-June.
  • A PIIMA representative with appropriate supply chain knowledge has already inspected one of the 3 factory sites and will inspect the balance 2 prior to shipment to confirm readiness for shipment.
  • The first batch of shipments are expected to land by air into India by 25 May. Singapore Red Cross is making all efforts to ensure minimal delays given the huge requirements on the ground.

The PIIMA Breathe Life team is relentlessly focused on ensuring these urgent supplies are delivered. We estimate we will favourably impact the lives of at least 100,000 COVID patients in India and bring much needed succour to their families. Our sincere thanks to you for your big – hearted and generous support. This would not have been possible without you.

With warm regards,

The PIIMA Breathe Life into India Team
