HC P Kumaran sat down for an IIMChat with Suresh Shankar, President PIIMA on December 5. It was a great session of discovery: from the differences that unite Indian diaspora across the world to the extraordinary work done by Indian communities in Oman, to the challenges of Zoom diplomacy, to the opportunities and threats of a multi-tiered diplomatic engagement that balances economics and national security.
Piyush Gupta, CEO of DBS, added his own inimitable take on the issues facing India and the Indian professional communities.
Both leaders agreed that it is incumbent on professional workers to integrate more with local communities and be a force for good. HC in particular asked that more be done for migrant workers. Both strongly pledged their support to the IIM alumni community in its efforts in this direction.
The High Commissioner endorsed the new # WhatsYourSQ initiative launched under the newly created IIMPulse umbrella.
