After a hectic 8 weeks of #BreatheLifeIntoIndia, the Singapore IIM Alumni team is settling into some kind of normalcy, just as India is.
In total the initiative was able to support SGD6 M worth of urgently needed supplies into India; of this close to SGD 2.2 M was directly raised by Pan IIM Alumni Singapore through Giving.sg, Milaap, and corporate donations from DBS Bank, Vena Energy, Helios Capital, Hawksburn Capital and Broad Peak Investments Advisory.
This SGD 2.2M funded 2098 oxygen concentrators that have been procured and shipped to India with the help of the Singapore Red Cross and India Red Cross. As of date 1710 concentrators have been deployed to 13 States and the remaining 388 are in the process of being allocated by Red Cross. The team also helped Singapore Red Cross procure 380 concentrators for Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Maldives and Indonesia.
The effort was intense with broad based contributions from not just Singapore IIM Alumni, but funds from high net worth individuals , other alumni associations including Pan IIM UAE, Pan IIM Hongkong, XLRI Alumni Singapore, St Stephens Alumni Singapore, and non alumni.
The #BreatheLife campaign is a testament to the power and passion of the the Breathe life team plus other volunteers, demonstrating that networks and partnerships can come together across Singapore and India to make a difference . They include a wide gamut of organisations like the Singapore Red Cross, the Indian High Commission, Temasek Foundation, SICCI, DBS and Olam among many in Singapore, and ACT Grants, Accel in Taiwan, Swasth Digital Health, the Govt. of Punjab, Tata Steel, UWB, Give India and Milaap in India.
