PIIMA is the coordinating body for all the IIM alumni in Singapore, and hosts the prestigious “IIMPact” series – a forum created by the PAN- IIM (Indian Institutes of Management) alumni in Singapore. IIMPACT has been a highly successful and sought-after event. Since the first IIMPACT in 2005, the event has grown in stature , evolving beyond alumni networking to a more inclusive, global networking platform reaching beyond Singapore. Key success drivers include the opportunity to hear inspiring and thought-provoking speakers and panelists on a wide range of subjects in a single forum.

We have enjoyed strong and visible support from the Singapore government for IIMPACT. PM Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, DPM Mr. Teo Chee Hean, DPM Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, DPM (then Finance Minister) Mr. Heng Swee Keat, and Minister for Trade and Industry Mr. Chan Chun Sin have been guests of honour. Late Mr. S. R. Nathan, the sixth President of Singapore, was the Patron for PIIMA and IIMPACT. Other prominent speakers have included corporate leaders Piyush Gupta CEO DBS, Sunny Verghese CEO Olam, and other thought leaders like Raghuram Rajan Economist, former RBI Governor, and Sadhguru, to name a few.

The focus of these forums was to facilitate the coming together of IIM Alumni and the diaspora to debate contemporary issues, network and become an integral thought leader within the Singapore context.

The first five IIMPact events were held in an evening conference format in close collaboration with the Singapore Government, industry as well as academic institutions. The events succeeded in generating valuable business ideas, in highlighting the contributions of IIM alumni in Singapore and in making Singapore a significant hub for the IIM community.

The next four events held from 2013 to 2019 were on a global scale- they were hugely successful one to two-day conferences, that truly broke new ground. Inspiring and thought-provoking speakers and panelists spoke on a wide range of subjects of topical relevance, culminating in a grand event in 2019 titled Life 4.0- take charge of your future.

The ability of PIIMA to make sense of this fast-changing world and adapt to the changes has helped not only the alumni, but also the community at large. PIIMA will continue to touch the lives of the alumni and the community through IIMPact and other forums in the coming years as well.
